DEVELOPER DOCUMENTATION

Your search data, available to your AI.

GSC Searchlight is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Google Search Console. Compatible AI clients can use nine tools to answer questions about organic search.

Live requests are scoped to the report properties you select from your connected Google account. Sample workspaces return synthetic examples. Google access is read-only.

Connect over MCP

On a live deployment, use OAuth with a compatible remote MCP client, or a personal bearer token with a client that accepts custom headers. The endpoint is POST /api/mcp.

Endpoint: https://your-domain.com/api/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Authentication: OAuth, or a personal bearer token
Supported protocol versions: 2026-07-28, 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26

Open AI connections to connect Google, select report properties and configure a client. Client availability and administrator policies vary; a connection option is not a public plugin listing. Isolated sample hosts accept no account credentials and cannot connect to Google.

Available tools

list_search_console_sites

Lists your selected report properties that remain accessible to your Google account.

get_search_analytics

Returns clicks, impressions, CTR and position by query, page, country, device, date or search appearance.

inspect_url_indexing

Returns Google's known index and crawl signals for a URL. Requires URL Inspection API access and is subject to Google's quota.

get_site_summary

Summarizes period changes, query gains and losses, and directional opportunities with data limits.

compare_search_periods

Compares a window with the preceding equal-length period, including aggregate metrics and optional dimension movers.

find_striking_distance_opportunities

Finds visible queries with directional CTR upside. Estimates are heuristics, not traffic forecasts.

detect_query_page_overlap

Shows queries served by multiple returned pages. Overlap alone does not establish harmful cannibalization.

find_decaying_pages

Finds returned pages with a click decline against the preceding equal-length period. Missing rows remain unknown.

detect_traffic_anomalies

Flags large recent daily changes against a preceding baseline. It does not establish their cause.

Website reports

The Analysis workspace provides CTR opportunities, content decay, query overlap, traffic changes and period comparison. You can export result rows as CSV and save up to 10 report snapshots in this browser. Saved reports retain their property, source and date window and are not refreshed automatically.

Plans and limits

Free accounts include up to 100 Analysis runs and MCP tool calls per calendar month, shared across the account, and one selected property. Pro supports 10,000 calls and 10 properties; Agency supports 100,000 calls and 100 properties. Properties must remain accessible to the connected Google account. The plans do not include team seats or separate client workspaces.

Analysis runs and authenticated MCP tool calls count before execution, so an execution error can still use a call. Requests rejected before metering do not count. Dashboard metric reads do not use this monthly allowance. Paid limits apply only when billing confirms an eligible active or trialing subscription with a future period end; otherwise the Free limits apply.

Paid billing is available only when enabled. Subscription management and cancellation are not available in this app; final billing terms and a working support contact must be published before paid plans are offered.
